Make sure to bring sturdy shoes. It's a rocky territory.
The walk up to the chateau is a bit steep and rocky. The chateau grounds itself are also steep in parts. I wouldn’t recommended this for children under 3 years. You can buy tickets on-site.
We went in late September when crowds were minimal.
Children ages 7 and under are free.
This itinerary is a must for any family going on a trip to Provence, France interested in the cultural history of the region. Château des Baux-de-Provence is one of the most stunning castles in the area and one of the best places to visit with kids in Provence. A visit truly takes you back into time to reimagine life in the 10th century. And the views are simply stunning. After visiting the castle, walk over to Carrières de Lumières. This multi media art performance set within a formidable rock structure is a one-of-a-kind experience kids and parents will enjoy alike.
