1. TUCSON, ARIZONA

While Tucson, Arizona is unbearably hot in the summer, March and April temperature highs hover around a very comfortable 75°F. Don’t miss the tram ride through Sabino Canyon, which offers amazing desert views without having to worry about little ones hiking on precipitous paths. Afterward, treat yourselves to a refreshing scoop of gelato at Frost.

If you want to escape the never-ending grayness of March, head to Madrid. Sunny spring days are perfect for strolling the streets of Spain’s capital, and should definitely include a stop at San Miguel Market. Why wait until summer to find respite in a tropical paradise? A spring break trip to Kauai is definitely worth considering. Whether you’d like to try your hand at surfing or would prefer to lounge on the beach, Kauai is a great escape.

4. KYOTO, JAPAN

One of the best spring break family destinations that might not be on your radar? Kyoto, Japan. Cherry blossom season starts in mid-March, and seeing the trees in full bloom is a truly special experience. Be sure to check out the spectacular Buddhist temples and hiking opportunities as well.
