Fort Vannoy Farms offers a great pumpkin patch experience for toddler, older kids and even for adults. In addition to the pumpkin patch picking and corn maze, Fort Vannoy Farms offers zip lining, a cow train on an awesome dirt track with hills and tunnels, a pumpkin chunker and cannon blaster. Our 11-year-old's favorite was the pumpkin chunker; he was given his choice of pumpkins and then aimed the pneumatic cannon, then boom, he pushed a button that shot the pumpkin with drama and flair at a school bus in the distance. The zip line was my personal favorite, zooming through the sky with nothing but fresh air blowing in my face and mountain views.
DIRECTIONS Take exit 55 from I-5. Continue on Hwy 199, turn right onto SE M St, left onto Lincoln Rd, right onto OR-260 w/ Lower River Rd. The farm will be on the left.
TIP Make sure to wear boots. Walking through the pumpkin patch and corn maze was quite muddy.

The pizza is exceptional, with great prices for a family on a budget. Pizzas only come in one size, perfect for sharing for 2 people. Oregon Pizza & Pour Authority also offers huge shareable salads, chicken wings and fries with mushroom gravy (kind of like poutine). On tap, they offer more than 20 beers. The vibe is very family friendly, with a nice little hum of conversation, so that kids can feel comfortable.
DIRECTIONS From Fort Vannoy Farms turn right onto OR-260 E then turn right onto SW Bridge St, left on SW 4th St, right onto SW L St, left onto SE 7th St.
TIP It can get pretty busy, but the restaurant is large enough that wait is not usually too long. For our family of four, we ordered two pizzas, shared an Italian salad and an appetizer of fries, and that was the perfect amount for us, no leftovers.
