Rent a rowboat for the family and paddle over to Bled Island. Boats are rented by the hour and the rowing takes about 10-15 minutes each way. Once you reach the island, you can walk around the grounds or purchase tickets to go inside the famous church and bell tower. Kids will love ringing the bell inside the church! While on the island, you can also stop for a drink, snack or ice cream to recharge.
DIRECTIONS After picking up your bikes from Helia, head along the southern side of the lake and follow the path. This is the side of the lake where the main road runs alongside it. Continue along, past the main gondola launching point on the southern end and past the Vila Bled hotel. Eventually, you will see a rowboat rental station along the water. Stop here to rent a boat for the family and start your adventure over at Bled Island. If you have reached the campground and shops at the western edge, you have gone too far.
TIP Expect to pay around 10-20 euros per hour for the boat rental. Don't forget to bring ID for the rental too! Additionally, tickets for the Bled Island church cost 6 euros for each adult and 1 euro for each kid. Make sure to bring plenty of cash, as both of these are cash only.
