SAY HELLO TO...

SHE IS A MOM TO...

A six-year-old boy and a four-year-old boy.

AND LIVES IN...

Copenhagen, Denmark.

TELL US A LITTLE MORE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

We are a family of four: my husband, Paul Martin; our sons, Carl Oscar (6) and August (4); and myself.

WHERE DO YOU LIVE?

We live just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR FAMILY'S TRAVEL STYLE?

We travel in comfort and usually plan where to stay to avoid surprises. However, we are usually quite flexible when it comes to what to see and do on any given day, and we love to go off on an adventure.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TRAVEL DESTINATION YOU'VE BEEN WITH YOUR KIDS?

Italy always delivers; we have been there quite a few times. The weather is always good, the food and ice cream are fantastic, we always meet friendly people who like children and there are tonnes of exciting things to see.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE YOU'VE HAD WITH YOUR KIDS?

A week in Elba, Italy, in a fabulous luxury hotel on the beach. The beach was perfect. Our oldest son became good friends with one of the cooks and was allowed to make pizza for himself and us in the wood-fired oven.

SO FUN! WHAT'S NEXT ON YOUR FAMILY'S TRAVEL BUCKET LIST?

We’d love to go island hopping in Greece, swap houses with a family in California and take a trip to Asia.

HOW DO YOU DOCUMENT YOUR TRAVELS?

I photograph what we do and make photo books afterwards. They are great for lifting the spirits on a cold and rainy December day.

We like to share that experience with our children to show them the world.

WHY DO YOU TRAVEL WITH YOUR KIDS?

My husband and I love traveling — the experience of a new place and observing local culture and wildlife, meeting interesting people and tasting new food. We like to share that experience with our children to show them the world. It is also a good opportunity to educate them and teach them something about the different animals we encounter or the historic places we visit.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TRAVEL MEMORY FROM YOUR OWN CHILDHOOD?

I loved visiting the Scottish highlands and riding along the beaches of Lindisfarne Island.

WHAT'S ONE NUGGET OF ADVICE THAT YOU HAVE FOR OTHER PARENTS TRAVELING WITH KIDS?

Downscale your ambitions of what to see and do, as long as you have small children. Things move at a different pace when you travel with kids. But if you make sure there are things to do for both the children and the parents, you will all have a good experience.
