Sydney’s Taronga Zoo adventure offers a beautiful day out for the whole family. Parents will enjoy the lovely views over Sydney Harbour, while kids will love seeing and interacting with all the animals at the Taronga Zoo. For a special vantage point, catch the Sky Safari and glimpse all the animals from above in this fun gondola ride that runs from the top of the zoo down to the water. After a busy day at Taronga Zoo, head to Bradleys Head for an afternoon picnic, take in the stunning views and let the kids run around before heading home.

Taronga Zoo would have to be one of the most picturesque and unique zoos we have visited in the world, mainly because of its beautiful location overlooking Sydney Harbour. We have been taking our three children to Taronga Zoo since the time they were babies, and at any age, they always seem to enjoy it immensely. There are a huge variety of animals to see, all in beautiful enclosures. There is a fun hands-on area with farm animals, a seal show, a bird show and lots of native Australian animals to see during your visit. The zoo also provides animal encounters that you can purchase for an extra fee. These animal encounter tickets include feeding the giraffes, cuddling a Koala or feeding penguins and meerkats.
DIRECTIONS
Taronga Zoo can be accessed by either car or ferry.
Public transport on the ferry is probably the easiest option from the city. Sydney ferries run from Circular Quay directly to Taronga Zoo every 30 minutes. Tickets for the ferry can be purchased at the ticket booths at Circular Quay.
If traveling by car from the city, cross the harbour either via the Harbour Bridge or Sydney Harbour Tunnel, and continue on to the Warringah Freeway before taking the Military Road exit and turning right onto Military Road. Follow Military Road to Spit Junction, and turn right to stay on Military Road in Mosman. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Bradleys Head Road and follow the signs to the Taronga Zoo.
TIP
Parking is available at the zoo for about $18 per day. Alternatively, you can park along the streets surrounding the zoo if you don't mind a 5- to 10-minute walk. Be sure to check parking signs for any time limits or restrictions.

Bradleys Head Amphitheatre is a popular tourist spot at Sydney Harbour. It is a perfect spot for photographers to capture views of Sydney Harbour, the Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison. Have a picnic, cool your feet off in the harbour and walk out on the old stone jetty to view the harbour and watch boats pass by.
DIRECTIONS
From Taronga Zoo, Bradleys Head is a short five-minute drive down Bradleys Head Road. Turn right from Taronga Zoo onto Bradleys Head Road, and follow the road to the parking areas. Parking is available for a small fee at the pay and display machines within the car parks.
